July 2023

It’s been a wild ride since Early April. I have been back in the USA since May and have gone on quite a few adventures in the meantime. It does sadden me a little to say that I have moved on from Andros Island, Bahamas. Living there was indeed a very amazing and beautiful experience that I have been blessed to experience. It was also humbling in the fact that my plans are not always set in stone and walking in the hands of Providence can provide many twists and turns. Unfortunately, it was time to move on from the work I was doing there. I met and made not a few friendships on the spec of sand in in the Caribbean and would have stayed had there not been some inherent evil and unethical intents in the workplace. That provided a valuable reinforcing lesson in learning that given in a most pristine environment there can be corruption.
Moving on from the work on Andros Island, I bounced to neighboring Island of New Providence and the Capital of the Bahamas where there was a ministry that needed help. The Adventure Learning Center and Camp is a faith-based outdoor education and learning center that has been active for a good 20+ years but had fallen into decline with onset of the Pandemic. I was there for 2 Weeks and in that time was able to help repair and clean up the Learning Centre. This was fulfilling and encouraging work where I knew that a Higher Power had placed me for a time, purpose and season. In that time, I also on-boarded with an evangelistic faith-based organization Operation Mobilization in order to prepare for Disaster Response Training in Thailand which would be held during this gap of employment.
After helping there for 2 weeks I restaged my belongings back in the USA and I took off to Thailand for this Relief Work focused training. That was another powerful adventure to take in. The training has prepared me and made me more focused on shifting my path in life towards more relief based work in the future and has helped to further ground my faith. It was an amazing time of fellowship and connection with others who are also living and working in areas of stress and persecution and still finding joy and hope in the One who made them.
So now I have settled into a short season of predictability as I will be working in Montana at Glacier National Park for the next few months in another Water Treatment and Maintenance role. This is another beautiful location and I am blessed again through being able to experience life and work in such a spectacular location. There are many things to write about working here as well, but the consistent factor through all such change is my faith. With certainty, I can see the hand of providence guiding me and walking alongside me on this wild journey.
